Observatory warns of heavy rain and 'unstable' conditions in the days ahead, before clearing up for the holiday
Hong Kong’s weather is set to remain volatile over the next few days before clearing up on Friday for the Dragon Boat Festival and through the weekend, according to the Observatory.
The forecaster noted that under the influence of an active southwest monsoon and a low-pressure trough, showers could be heavy at intervals on Tuesday.
“The weather is expected to stay unsettled initially from Wednesday to Thursday, with heavier showers in certain areas,” it stated.
“Conditions will improve on Tuen Ng Festival and during the weekend.”
On Monday evening, approximately 30mm of rainfall was recorded across broad areas, with amounts exceeding 80mm in parts of Lantau Island.
