During an exclusive discussion with the South China Morning Post, Lee indicated that the government would engage with the public and "pool ideas" prior to making a decision on continuing the incentive measures.
Since its introduction, over 65,000 babies' parents have taken advantage of the scheme, with the government disbursing more than HK$1.3 billion in allowances.
Lee emphasized that the comprehensive strategy, which encompasses increased tax deductions and enhancements to the childcare service system, signified a significant shift in policy from a reactive stance to one that proactively promotes childbirth.
