A 41-year-old landlord and a 42-year-old tenant were taken into custody following a rental disagreement that escalated into violence inside a subdivided flat in Hong Kong.
At around 11 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report that a man had splashed a suspected corrosive liquid onto another man inside a unit located in a building on Prince Edward Road West, close to Portland Street in Mong Kok.
Officers equipped with shields arrived at the scene and discovered the landlord and tenant engaged in a physical altercation over the lease, during which an unknown liquid was thrown.
Firefighters were summoned to carry out rapid assessments and confirmed that the liquid was not corrosive.
Both individuals were arrested on suspicion of common assault.
The landlord complained of pain in his wrist, while the tenant reported discomfort in his chest and hands, along with a scratch on his wrist.
