Owner of Fo Tan Greenwood Terrace residence reports forced jewellery box, with 10 necklaces, 15 rings and six brooches taken
Residents of a Hong Kong luxury home have lost HK$751,000 worth of jewellery following a burglary that occurred while they were eating dinner on the ground floor.
Police received a report of the burglary at 9.50pm on Saturday from a 69-year-old man, the owner of the two-storey house located at Greenwood Terrace on Sui Wo Road in Fo Tan.
He reported that his master bedroom had been broken into and a jewellery box forced open, resulting in the theft of 10 necklaces, 15 rings and six brooches.
The loss was valued at approximately HK$751,000 (US$95,838).
The man stated that he had inspected the bedroom at around 6pm before joining his family for dinner in the living room on the ground floor.
When he later returned, he found the bedroom door locked from the inside. After unlocking it, he discovered the room had been searched and the jewellery stolen.
